About Fall Block

  • ABOUT US

Fraternities and sororities belonging to the National Pan-Hellenic Council were the first to be established at VCU, and soon after the eighth of the Divine Nine came to campus, a tradition was born to bring the NPHC community together. In 1985, the first Fall Block Step Show was held outside the University Student Commons.

This event showcases the tremendous stepping ability of VCU chapter members and is also an illustration of the dedication and hard work that every member puts into his or her membership. 26 years later, the Fall Block Step Show is the largest and most visible fraternity and sorority related event on campus.

Held in the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, the average attendance is 5,000; making it the largest step show in Virginia. Fall Block is one of the six major university events that are partially funded by student activity fees. It is ran by a student committee that works all year to plan and implement this official VCU tradition. Step Teams not only compete for prize money, but the opportunity to seize bragging rights for the year!
